Frequently Asked Questions

Having been in the painting contractor business for over 30 years now, we tend to come across some frequently asked questions from existing and potential customers. Below are a some of the most common, but if you don't see your question listed below please feel free to contact us, and we'll be happy to answer any of your questions.

  • Is Dennis White Painting Contractor licensed and insured?
  • Absolutely, our license number for Painting Contracting in Pinellas County is C-4336. We can provide you necessary proof and documentation when we provide you with an estimate.
  • How long have you been painting in FL?
  • My experience in providing painting services in the state of Florida started right here in the Clearwater area back in 1978. For more company history information click here.
  • How long does it take a to have an estimate made?
  • Generally speaking we just take a few minutes (up to about 10 minutes) on the phone to get some basic facts. We will then come on site to evaluate the property and work needed. Once we have a good understanding of the project we can usually provide you a written estimate that same day or the next business day.
  • What if I want to do the interior like my bedrooms, but I just want you to do the exterior of my house?
  • We are happy to take these types of projects. We understand some people like to do their own interiors sometimes, but exterior painting can be quite the hassle in Florida. We can even give you some advice on how to do your interior project.
  • Do you have references?
  • Yes, we have plenty of references we can provide you. Once we learn of your location we will gather references of projects we have finished in your area, possibily even neighbors you may already know. We can give you this list when we come onsite or when we provide you an estimate.
  • Is there anything I need to do to prepare for your first day of work?
  • Yes, we appreciate it if the customer can take care of small, fragile, expensive items like pictures, vases, and other nick naks. When we come out to do the estimate we will let you know of any other items of concern.
  • What about larger items like furniture?
  • We are prepared to move some larger items like sofas. As stated above, we will let you know if there is anything else. We also take extra precaution by covering all surfaces, including flooring before doing work. This insures that we leave any area we work on in better condition than when we started.
  • How do I pay?
  • We accept all major credit cards such as Visa, Discover Card, American Express, etc., as well as cash and check.
  • Are your painters experienced?
  • Yes, all of our painters are of professional level. We take our profession very seriously, and are not college kids earning extra money on the side. We expect nothing but the best out of our painters, which is exactly what you will get.
  • What kind of paints do you use?
  • We only use high quality paints from local suppliers such as Porter, PPG, and Sherwin Williams.
  • I found the exact paint I want at a big box store, can you use that?
  • Generally speaking if it's just a matter of color, my local suppliers are capable of custom matching any desired color. We prefer to work with materials we are accustomed to using, but will certainly take customer's input into concideration.
